Our Founder
Founder & CEO
Professor Yufang Liu, the founder and CEO of the Injury-Free Arts Academy, has dedicated her life to empowering musicians and preventing injuries through innovative education and research. With nearly 20 years of experience as an associate professor in China, she moved to the United States in 2016 to further her mission.
From a young age, Professor Liu was deeply passionate about music and dance. At eighteen, she experienced severe hand pain that nearly ended her music career, fueling her determination to find solutions and help others avoid similar pain. Inspired by piano maestro Leon Fleischer, who continued his musical journey despite debilitating hand injuries, Professor Liu developed the Injury-Free Piano System. This system combines principles from anatomy, neurology, and the mechanics of musical instruments to offer a comprehensive approach to injury prevention.
Through the Injury-Free Arts Academy, Professor Liu aims to revolutionize music education by integrating preventive techniques into training programs. By offering master classes, workshops, and webinars, the academy seeks to reach musicians of all backgrounds and help them achieve their full potential without the risk of injury. She is also committed to using music to inspire and support children with disabilities, helping them connect with the beauty of the world through art.
